Melpomene is a muse best known for singing and celebration, but now she is associated with tragedy. She is the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Age
: 17 yrs old. Birthday
: June 10th XXXX Likes
: Iris is a singer / musician and loves the performing arts wholeheartedly. She plays a small flute called the σουραύλι (Souravli) and often lends her musical talents to the local theatre and street shows alike.
On her planet Ἑσπερίδες V (Hesperides 5), people spend a considerable amount of time outside. The weather is like a subtropical paradise, usually it's warm and sunny without being too hot. Most places are incredibly scenic and the people really care about their environment. Most stores are located in outdoor malls where tons of people frequent. Iris, like most of her people, loves the outdoors. Before she enlisted, she would take daily walks to "Lower Gardens 12A", an amazing public park where hundreds of women go to relax and sunbathe. Dislikes
: Each day the conflict grows closers closer to Hesperides and with it comes Iris' hatred for the war. She absolutely hates political figure heads and people who seek power just to abuse it for their own selfish interests. She has a hard time working in a group especially when little arguments arise and cannot stand to see someone snub the less fortunate. Powers
: The battalion who accepted "Lost Star" into their ranks usually grades each senshi upon recruitment. "Lost Star" was evaluated as their lowest acceptable rank. This means that she's one step above a regular person. She possesses magical abilities, but they are rather weak and can rarely be used on command. There's just one problem with tests, every person is unique and unpredictable. A simple bureaucratic number should never be used to fully judge a person because people evolve and change. Human potential is hidden and is thus immeasurable. Senshi especially, can be just full of surprises because their heart has the ability to pull power from beyond their own limits.
As part of her basic training, Iris was taught hand to hand combat, survival techniques and basic first aid. Her magical powers allow her to heal minor wounds. Using her music as a conduit, she can relax fallen soldiers and give them a happy feeling even if they are in immense pain. This ability can be extremely useful when supplies are low or non existent. The power of "Lost Star's" song is comparative to Vicodin and other strong drugs without the risk of withdrawal. When she plays her flute, she can treat around 10 soldiers at the same time.
Story - Chapter 1 - La Soldier -
Long before the peaceful Silver Millenium, beyond our solar system, sailor senshi from every planet and star were fighting viciously on a multiversal scale. Codename "Sailor Lost Star" was a lowly soldier part of a small battalion trying to win the war in the name of peace. Their goal was to create a whole new era of peace and organize the senshi into strong united alliances who could protect the people and mediate future conflicts. Sadly, their dream was often the subject of ridicule by the other planets. Rarely could they convince powerful senshi to their cause. The concept of "peace" was thought of as nothing but childish nonsense, too idealistic to ever become reality.
Iris knew how futile the virtues of the battalion were. They often talked about fighting for "love and justice" and how it was important to educate rather than resort to natural, violent temptations. She knew the truth though, people don't have that kind of patience. Did they really think the tyrants annihilating entire planets would really stop and listen?
She did not care for politics or power, but they involved her in their battles the moment she saw nice people she had spoken with not too long ago slaughtered, their city massacred, and orphaned survivors starving on the street. No more. She wasn't stupid. She knew she was weak. There were stronger senshi who had the abilities that mirrored even most devastating nuclear weapons, but it didn't matter. The cause was more important.
