Sins by mishihime Sins by mishihime
This is a re-upload of a deviation I submitted in 2007, formally known as "Health Sins" (14x20 in)

The girl in the painting is contemplating her life, coming to the realization that many of the things she's done, without any thought or hesitation have led her down the path of self destruction. Broken spirited. Admitting the truth. Unable to live in ignorance any longer.
I was lucky enough to display this at the art and music show sponsored by my college. It was created using gouache paint, cut paper, ball point pen, colored pencil and a splatter technique with a toothbrush. If anyone is interested, I still have the original painting and am willing to part with it for a price.

Hello there
First of all sorry for my english, and please forgive me if I'll make some mistakes, it's not primary language ;) I don't really know how to write critique to this kind of art, but I'll try to do my best :)

:bulletblue: I totally love concept of You work!
:bulletblue: Colors choise is really great, they're delicate and strong at the same time, what makes really good, interesting climate at Your painting.
:bulletblue: Very good idea with 'decoration details' at the right side.
:bulletblue: Nice job with anathomy - hand looks very realistic [I always have problems with this].
:bulletblue: Contrast between left [dark] and left [calm] side is stunning.
:bulletblue: In my opinion You have talent to works in this style and for me it's one of best from Your gallery.

So what more can I say ? Keep up good work, good luck :)

I love the colours you have used, and the addition of the paper works really well in adding an interesting texture and pattern to the painting. Great work.

To tell the truth, I am not sure why I like this so much, but when I look at it, I don't know... I get kind of chillie. While the motive on its own isn't too new, together with the colour, it gets so much meaning... And the title! I love it and it suits the picture so well even though I am not able to eally describe what I feel looking at this. It is kind of depressig, but more in a guilty way than a sad, can you understand me? If yes please explain me what I mean, because I don't understand it myself completly.

I think the biggest words that come to mind for me is "regret" "remorse".
This painting is one of the actual pieces of artwork I created in the worst time of my life when everything was a living hell, so there's a lot of genuine sadness and depression behind it. You might be empathetic and sensing that...Maybe...

O thank you for the answer. Now I know where this guilty feeling came from. Hehe, I don't know if I am empathetic, or what the word means.
I am just convinced that you can always see what the artist was feeling upon creating any piece of art, and what kind of a person he had been at this day. And I think, thanks to my own expierence, that true artists that make their art from heart, are all more vulnerable by sadness, sorrow, depression, loneliness and such than normal human beings. We have a different soul.
There are people in this world who don't care for emotion, they just live their lives being happy at all things they like and hate things that could show them how the world really is, and how people really are.

Those people could never be artists, not true ones.

Oh wow, I hadn't seen this before! I must say I absolutely love the shadows in this, the pose, the expression and the whole composition itself. The details are also quite interesting. Very creative artwork as well! I know this isn't new but really, congratulations!
